Stormy Cornish seas, the combination of labradorite, sky blue crystal cut glass and natural tumbled sea glass just conjures up memories of stormy seas. Sea glass is arguably one of the most recycled products that there is. Because it starts it life as sand, which is melted at high temperatures to make into glass that is used to make windows, bottles, jars, and other items. When it has been discarded, possibly end up in the sea, it could stay there for a hundred years or more. The sea breaks it up and creates glass pebbles which if not found by a beachcomber and made into something special, it will stay in sea until it is worn away back into sand.
The beaches in Cornwall England are rocky, windswept and romantic just the place to find mermaids tears.
Don't forget the legend of mermaids tears
The legend states that Neptune, the watchful god of the sea, forbade the sea maidens to use their abilities to change the course of nature. One night, during a horrible storm, one of the mermaids weathered the crossings for a ship. She had, over time, grown to fall in love with the ship’s captain from afar. When she calmed the wind and waves to save the man’s life, Neptune angrily exiled her to the depths of the ocean. She was condemned for eternity and ordered never to swim to the surface again. Still, today, her brightly gleaming tears wash up on the shore as sea glass as a reminder of her true love.
Please remember that sea glass is a found product and although I do my best to match pieces they can never be identical
